KF82 Special Care Rebuild
When LVS Golf Cart Parts rebuilds a KF82 Side Valve Club Car engine special care or attention is given to several
areas. One being the Cylinder Head in general. The Cylinder Head for the KF82 is the only part on this engine that
is not replaceable. When these engines are prepped special attention is given to the starter generator mounting bracket
bolt holes. Many instances these are cracked on engine cores or have become weak over time. The LVS rebuild team not only
checks the thread pattern in these bolt holes but also makes absalute certain that they are not brittle and easily able
to with stand normal wear and tear. Also, on many of these heads there are hairline craks found in the threads of the
spark plug mounting hole due to over toqueing of the spark plug. These are often times repairable. If needed all bolt holes are fitted with factory size helicoils.
This is just some of the special care and attention given when the team of mechanics takes on an engine rebuild. The KF82 engine
is one of the best engines ever produced for a golf cart and LVS Golf Cart Parts continually strifes to keep these dependable
engines alive and supply parts for them that no other company can provide. |

Engine Prep:
Our rebuilt engines start with a complete engine boil-out, sand blasting, and then
coated with heat resistant paint. All bolt and screw holes checked for proper thread patterns and cleared of debris or thread wear.
 Customer core prior to prepping.
 Block after boil-out and blasting.
|
|
Part Prep:
The major mechanical parts are completely examined. Both the camshaft and
crankshaft are cleaned and polished. After cleaning and polishing the camshaft and crankshaft are measured for tolerance/clearance. If these
measurements are not within specs then they are replaced with brand new components. The cylinder is measured and checked for wear. If needed the cylinder is then bored to proper size to meet factory specifications.

Newly Furnished Parts:
In our rebuilt engines we replace most all working
parts with new parts. Here is a brief list of new parts in your rebuilt engine: Piston & Rings assembly, Circlips, Wrist Pin, Intake Valves,
Exhaust Valves, Valve Guides, Connecting Rod, Connecting Rod Bearings, Complete Gasket Replacement, All Engine Bearings, All Engine Seals, as well as
a Crankshaft and Camshaft if tolerance requires it.

Block with refinished/polished parts installed and lubricated.

|
Rebuilding:
Once the block and all engine components have been properly prepped and
inspected the engine is then assembled by our experienced team of small engine mechanics. Each part before being inserted is properly lubed.
Once inserted each part is secured to factory torque specifications. Once the engine is completely assembled it is given a complete and thorough
visual inspection by the technician supervisor. After this, the engine is sent for testing.

Engine Testing:
Every engine built by LVS Golf Cart Parts
is thoroughly tested before being prepared for shipping. When the engine arrives to the testing area it is mounted to an engine testing
stand designed by our rebuild team. Once secured to the stand the engine is turned by hand 3 to 4 rotations to be sure the engine is
freely turning. Once this is done a primary clutch is mounted to the crankshaft so the engine can be started and run for a period
of time. Then the rebuilt engine goes through another set of stages.
1.) Engine is started and allowed to run at full throttle
for 10 minutes.
2.) Temperature of the motor is checked prior to engine being shutdown to make sure it does not exceed factory
specifications.
3.) The engine's air circulation is checked.
4.) Engine is paid close attention to to make sure there are no
unexpected noises within the engine block.
5.) Engine is checked for any leaks.
6.) After the engine is ran for the specified
amount of time the engine is again rotated by hand 3 to 4 rotations to make sure it turns within the factory compression specifications.
7.) Before being removed from testing stand all bolts are again checked for factory torque settings and tighten any that have loosened
after test run.

Finished Product:
Once all of the the stages of our engine rebuilding procedure have been completed the engine is allowed to cool
then prepared for shipping. No other engine rebuild shop can boast of such care and time taken in every engine
rebuilt. Our rebuilt engines are as reliable as brand new engines and in most cases more powerful due to the
cylinder boring and the camshaft and crankshaft polishing. And of course no other engine rebuilder supplies, for FREE,
a Brand New Carburetor! with every rebuilt engine.
